The new fragrance of the Ralph Lauren Polo collection is oriental masculine fragrance Supreme Oud. The scent comes out in early 2015 in Eau de Parfum concentration. It is developed by perfumer Carlos Benaim. The fragrance offers quality, strength and longevity.

The oriental - woody composition begins with spicy accords of pink pepper and cinnamon. The heart features smoky accord of Indian oud, laid on the base of vetiver and guaiac wood.

Spicebomb

Viktor & Rolf present the male equivalent of the famous Flowerbomb fragrance Spicebomb.  Let me just say this now.  This is not one for the timid or tame.  It's a fragrance that grabs you and announces your presence to everyone in the vicinity.

Spicebomb came out in January 2012 as an explosive and extrovert oriental - woody and spicy composition. Perfumer Olivier Polge blended spices with sensual undertones; creating two diametrically opposed fragrant accords: 1. the addictive and fiery one and 2. the explosive and icy one. The fiery accord contains notes of chili, saffron, leather, tobacco and vetiver. The explosive one includes bergamot, grapefruit, elemi and pink pepper.

This is a must have for all grown up fragrance wardrobes.  Carnal, sexy, seductive, and unforgettable.  Additionally, you will score high in the uniqueness factor because this bad boy ii well worth the price.

Harrod's Agarwood

Sex in a bottle.   Dark, deep, smoldering, brooding, carnal, lush, oud that is guaranteed to make you stand out.  Now for the note analysis.

Created exclusively for Harrods, the new fragrance by the house of Bond No. 9 was introduced, inspired and based on agarwood (oud). Dominant in the compositions. In a black flacon with golden details Harrods Agarwood announces a powerful, dark and oriental saga intertwining with hot spices.

In the game of spices, hot resins and precious wood, the composition of Harrods Agarwood highlights accords of nutmeg, black tea, saffron and violet, with dark and sensual notes of agarwood, sandalwood, labdanum and amber. The composition is deepened with notes of patchouli and the unique effect of suede lingering on the skin. Fragrance Bond No9 Harrods Agarwood arrives as 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum. Harrods Agarwood was launched in 2013.

Expensive, but well worth the money.  For the man who wants to be dominant among men this is the fragrance for you.

PHI--Une Rose de Kandahar - Andy Tauer

Andy Tauer is, in my opinion, a self taught perfume genius.  His work should be classified as high art then perfumery.  Masterpiece of composition is what comes to mind when I was first introduced to this.

Phi is a luxurious scent, inspired by a natural extract of roses produced in Afghanistan's rose region, Nangarhar. This rose oil is extremely rare and of highest quality. Inspired by these roses, growing in a dry and rough land, Phi is a rare gem, complementing contrasting lines, rich in natural raw materials that add depth and authenticity. Due to the limited amount of the rose oil, une rose de Kandahar is not guaranteed to be available all the time.

PHI Une Rose de Kandahar by Tauer Perfumes is a Floral fragrance for women and men. This is a new fragrance. PHI Une Rose de Kandahar was launched in 2013. The nose behind this fragrance is Andy Tauer. Top notes are apricot, cinnamon, almond and bergamot; middle notes are Bulgarian rose absolute and rose from Kandahar, Bourbon geranium and tobacco leaf; base notes are patchouli, vetiver, vanilla, tonka bean, musk and ambergris.

I could labor and write a long review, but that would only serve to complicate the matter.  This is not a fragrance for the timid or shy.  It's a bold, brash rose that screams "I'm here and I'm incredible!"  Not for everyday wearing by the masses that suits me just fine.  Wear.  Love.  Live

Tom Ford Costa Azzurra

Today was another adventure with Tom Ford's most recent summer editions launched in 2014.  Costa Azzurra by Tom Ford is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for women and men.  This one was middle of the road at best.  As usual with Tom Ford the presentation is flawless, but that's where the mystery ends.  Top notes are seaweed, driftwood, agarwood (oud), ambrette (musk mallow), celery seeds and cardamom; middle notes are juniper, myrtle, lavender, lemon, yellow mandarin and artemisia; base notes are mastic or lentisque, olibanum, incense, vanilla, vetiver and oak.  A very solid construction, but utterly uninspiring.  As with all fragrances I look at what I'm getting then the price point and honestly for the price there are far better options.

Tom Ford Mandarino Di Amalfi

Today I tried Tom Ford's Mandarino Di Amalfi from his Private Blend collection and I have to admit that was pleasantly surprised.  Having read reviews from follow fragrance lovers the reception was mixed at best.  Most agree that presentation and packaging were stellar, but the perfume itself left something to be desired.  But, like all things I suggest you try them for yourself and at different times before casting final judgement.  Now we all know that Tom Ford is the genius behind bringing Oud to the mainstream western market with M7 while with Yves St. Laurent.  Since then he has continued to be a trailblazer in the fragrance arena.  Mandarino Di Amalfi is no exception it's even recently won Men's Luxury Fragrance of the Year.  Let's get into it the notes.

Mandarino di Amalfi by Tom Ford is classified as a Citrus Aromatic fragrance for women and men.  Launched in 2014 the top notes are tarragon, mint, black currant, grapefruit, lemon and basil; middle notes are black pepper, coriander, orange blossom, clary sage, shiso and jasmine; base notes are vetiver, amber, labdanum, musk and civet.

To my nose it opens with a refreshing citrus blast that is spot on and develops as expect into the and proceeds to a very quick drydown.  As with most fresh scents the longevity tends to be an issue meaning you will likely need to reapply in 2 - 4 hours.  My suggestion is to overspray after you applied a good unscented moisturizer.  Longevity aside this is a great, fun summer scent that's at home day or night, office or out on the town.  Bravo, Mr. Ford you've done it again.
